What Is Startup E+?

Startup E+ is an entrepreneurship initiative that helps people in Kerala turn ideas into real businesses. It connects students, homemakers, working professionals, and small business owners with mentors, training, funding, and support from institutions.

It began in Vadakara with a simple belief. Talented young people from the region often move away to find work, and they take their ideas with them. Startup E+ wants to change that by building opportunities at home.

The programme takes a person through five phases, from idea to investment. The goal is to help a complete beginner build a business that is properly registered, financially planned, and ready for investors.

Who Supports Startup E+?

Startup E+ works with five institutional partners:

  • IIM Kozhikode for business strategy, planning, and training
  • NIT Calicut Technology Business Incubator for technology and product advice
  • Cyberpark Calicut for IT and digital businesses
  • Kerala Startup Mission for incubation, mentoring, and funding links
  • Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala for registration, licences, and MSME support

Bringing them together means a founder doesn't have to find all this help alone.

What Progbiz Did for Startup E+

Our role was to give the movement a clear face and voice that people would recognise and trust.

Visual Identity

We shaped the Startup E+ visual identity: how the brand looks everywhere it appears. A movement like this speaks to many different people at once, from college students to small shop owners. The identity had to feel modern and hopeful, but also simple and welcoming.

Communication Around the Initiative

We created the communication for the initiative and its launch. That meant explaining a big idea in a few clear words, so anyone seeing a poster or a post could understand what Startup E+ offers and why it matters.

The Startup E+ Website

We designed the Startup E+ website at startupeplus.com. It explains the initiative, introduces the partners, and gives two simple paths to register: one for people with an idea, and one for people who already run a business.

Why This Project Mattered to Us

For our team, this was more than a branding project. Startup E+ brings ideas, mentorship, funding, and opportunities together on one platform, and we got to help shape how it reaches people.

As a team based in Kannur, we care about the same problem Startup E+ is solving. We want good ideas from North Kerala to grow here, not leave. Meeting Shafi Parambil MP and being part of this milestone made the work even more special.

Startup Branding Tips From This Project

Whether you're launching a startup, a programme, or a community movement, the same branding basics apply.

1. Know Who You Are Talking To

A brand for "everyone" often reaches no one. Write down your two or three main audiences first. Startup E+ speaks to students, working people, homemakers, and business owners, so its message has to be clear to all of them.

2. Keep Your Message Short

If you can't explain your idea in one sentence, people won't remember it. Pick one clear line and use it everywhere: on your website, posters, and social media.

3. Stay Consistent

Use the same colours, fonts, and tone on every channel. When people see the same look again and again, they start to trust it.

4. Make the Next Step Obvious

Good branding doesn't just look nice. It tells people what to do next. The Startup E+ website does this with two simple buttons: "I Have an Idea" and "I Run a Business."

5. Build Trust With Real Proof

Show real partners, real events, and real people. For a new brand, trust comes from what people can check for themselves.

How Startup E+ Helps Kerala's Startup Ecosystem

Kerala already has strong support for startups through bodies like Kerala Startup Mission. What Startup E+ adds is a local starting point. It reaches people in their own town through Entrepreneurship Clubs, campaigns, hackathons, a Startup Conclave, and an Investors' Meet, and connects them to the bigger support system.

These programmes are planned and delivered by WeCan Social Innovators, who coordinate with every partner involved.

For people in Vadakara and nearby areas, this means the first step toward starting a business is closer than before.

Conclusion

The Startup E+ branding project showed us what branding can do beyond business. It can help a whole community see a new path for itself. We're proud to have played a small part in bringing Startup E+ to life, and we look forward to seeing the ideas and businesses it helps grow across Kerala.
